Presentations of MAGIC in the school library

On 23rd April, 2015, we organised a Comenius day, which took place in the school library. We presented our work and the visit to Greece to other students and teachers of our school. The students who took part in the meeting in Greece prepared various videos, photo presentations, Prezi presentations of Thessaloniki and Athens, etc. and showed them to their classmates and other students and teachers. They also presented their work on Theme 4, the products of the workshops that took place in Thessaloniki and the mockumentary: Time capsule. The mockumentary was also shown at the meeting in Greece and it was prepared by our group Magic 4.

Project meeting in Greece (22nd - 28th March 2015)

We had a great week in Thessaloniki and Athens. We all learned and saw a lot, we also worked hard at all the workshops, met old friends and made some new ones... All of us came home richer in various respects, so thank you Greece!

Theme 4: Sensationalism in the media

In January we started working on Theme 4: Sensationalism in the media. We discussed the reliability of the media and different sources, talked about the difference between tabloids and broadsheet newspapers, students looked at different stories and how they were presented in various newspapers and TV news. Some groups started preparing presentations, others wrote short essays about the topic and researched what the opinion and media awareness are like in their classes.

We used information from the following websites (and some others):

Magic on School Open Day (2014)

Also this year we presented our project on Schhol Open Day, which took place on December 5, 2014. We prepared a photo exhibition of our activities and trips, an exhibition of various products and gifts from partner countries, and then a few students talked about the project and showed a PPT presentation.

Photos from the event will follow soon.

Christmas - Exchange boxes

In December we sent  Christmas boxes to all our partner countries. We hope that they have enjoyed them or will enjoy them when they come back to school in January.

We already received boxes from Slovakia, the Netherlands, Germany and Greece. We had a special Christmas meeting, had fun opening them, checking various gifts and of course eating all the goodies we got. So, thanks a lot everybody!

We are looking forward to receiving two more boxes. We will open them in January, which will make the Christmas spirit last longer.

SHOPPING 2

By now most of the groups have done their hypothetical shopping and produced videos, which are posted on the students' blogs. We talked about shopping during English classes and watched videos about tricks that shops use to make people buy more. Students also analysed their shopping habits and then wrote short essays about it.

Only our group two went on strike and they still haven't published anything.

THEME 3: SHOPPING

Hello everybody!

In September we met again and had our first Comenius meetings. We discussed theme three, which is shopping. We also covered this topic during English classes (with some students). All the Comenius groups got instructions how to cover theme 3, and they went shopping. They were supposed to publish their videos on their blogs last week, but as usually they are running late. I hope we can see their videos this week:)
